- From DIY Website to High-Converting Construction Website (Real Client)
Project Details
- Client: Construction Company
- CaseType: Website Redesign
- Date : 2026
- Duration: 3 Weeks
Project Overview
This project involved the complete redesign of a construction and carpentry company’s website in Canada. The client originally built the website themselves while managing day-to-day operations of their business. Like many contractors, their primary focus was serving customers and completing projects, leaving little time to develop a professional online presence. While the business had an excellent reputation and quality workmanship, the website did not reflect the professionalism of the company. The site appeared incomplete, lacked structure, and failed to guide visitors toward becoming leads. The client reached out for a complete website redesign focused on improving credibility, user experience, and lead generation.
Challenges
The original website had several issues that were hurting both user experience and conversion potential:
- DIY design created by the business owner with limited time available
- Homepage appeared unfinished and lacked visual hierarchy
- Sidebar layout created unnecessary distractions
- No company logo displayed in the header
- Contact form placed prominently on the homepage without strategic positioning
- Default GeneratePress footer branding remained visible, creating an unprofessional appearance
- Limited navigation structure
- Only a homepage and services section existed
- Service areas were listed but not clickable
- No dedicated pages for individual services
- No project portfolio to showcase completed work
- Weak trust-building elements
- No clear customer journey from visitor to lead
The Problem
Although the company provided quality construction and carpentry services, the website failed to communicate expertise and professionalism. The site consisted primarily of a homepage with limited service information. Visitors could not easily navigate to specific services, view completed projects, learn about the company, or understand why they should choose this contractor over competitors. Without a strong structure and conversion-focused design, valuable opportunities to generate inquiries and project requests were being lost.
Project Objectives
The primary goal was to transform the website into a modern, high-converting construction website that would:
- Build trust with potential customers
- Showcase the company's workmanship and experience
- Improve user navigation and engagement
- Highlight key services and service areas
- Increase inquiries and project requests
- Strengthen the company's brand identity
- Create a professional online presence that reflects the quality of the business
The Process
